___The Everglades River of Grass New York: Rinehart, 1947. Rinehart published
seven editions of The Everglades River of Grass - two in 1947, one in
1948, 1954, 1956, 1959 and 1962. In 1965 Douglas created her own publishing house,
Hurricane House (Miami), to reprint The Everglades River of Grass. Banyan Books
(Miami) published a revised edition in 1978. Since 1988 Pineapple Press, Inc. (Sarasota, FL) published
the hard back edition of The Everglades River of Grass and since 1974 Mockingbird
Books (Atlanta) has published a paperback edition.

October 1918 to mid December 1919, Marjory Stoneman Douglas worked
for the American Red Cross and contributed unsigned articles to the
Red Cross Bulletin.
Plays
Douglas wrote three plays. Two are lost. One was written in the fall of 1912 during a
few months stay in St. Louis, Missouri. A second play, Storm Warnings written with
William W. Muir and produced at the Civic Theater in Miami, also is lost. (May
have been performed at Miami's Mayfair Theater.)
Douglas, Marjory Stoneman. The Gallows Gate. A one-act play. Boston, MA: Walter
H. Baker I 931. Alleged by an undated Friends of the University of Miami Library
announcement to have been expanded into a three-act play. No three-act play has been
found.
